Yes! Paysa has a native macOS app built specifically for the Mac. Yes. If you enable cloud sync on both devices, your expenses, categories, budgets, tags, and favorites stay in sync automatically. Changes made on one device appear on the others within seconds.

Yes. Paysa works fully offline on all platforms. Your data is stored locally on your device. Cloud sync is optional — when you're back online, any changes sync automatically.

Yes — two ways. You can export a CSV of your expenses to open in a spreadsheet, or export a full backup as a single .paysabackup file that holds everything: expenses, income, categories and budgets, recurring items, tags, favorites, and your preferences.

To restore a backup, you choose how it applies: Merge adds and updates records without deleting anything, or Replace wipes the data on that device and loads the backup in its place. A backup is a great thing to make before resetting the app or switching to cloud sync. The file is created on your device and is yours to keep — it doesn't contain your login or any account credentials.

A fixed cost is a set, recurring bill you can't really trim month to month — rent, a mortgage, insurance, a car payment. Paysa keeps fixed costs out of your budget progress so a predictable bill doesn't trip a budget alert, but still counts them in your totals so your real spending is accurate. In short: your budgets focus on the flexible spending you can actually act on.

Three ways, depending on how broad you want it:

• A single expense — tap the lock icon in the expense editor.
• A whole category — mark the category "fixed by default," and new expenses in it start fixed.
• A recurring item — mark the recurring template fixed.

Marking a category or recurring item fixed applies to its past and future charges, so your budgets stay consistent over time.

Yes — income tracking is optional and off by default. Turn it on and you can log paychecks and other income (including recurring ones, like a biweekly salary). Income is kept completely separate from your spending and budgets — it's never counted as an expense. With income on, you can pick a Home view that shows what's left after everything goes out, and see a simple money‑in vs. money‑out picture.

You can choose how your Home screen sums things up, and switch anytime in Settings:

• Budget ring — how much of your budget you've used, at a glance.
• Fixed vs. flexible — a bar that splits committed costs from flexible spending; great if you have fixed bills.
• Left to spend — leads with what's left after income minus everything out (needs income tracking on).

Paysa exports your data in a standardized CSV format that's easy to read and share. Here's what the data looks like:

Expense exports also include a Fixed column (Yes/No) showing whether each expense is a fixed cost. Older CSV files that don't have this column still import fine.

• Date: YYYY-MM-DD format (e.g., 2025-01-15)
• Name: Merchant or expense name (quoted if contains commas)
• Amount: Numeric value (e.g., 45.50)
• Currency: Three-letter currency code (e.g., USD, EUR, INR)
• Category: Expense category name
• Note: Additional notes or description
• Tags: Comma-separated tags without spaces (e.g., groceries,weekly)
• CategoryName: Name of the budget category
• MonthlyBudget: Monthly budget amount in your primary currency

CSV Escaping: If any field contains commas, it will be enclosed in double quotes. For example: "Coffee Shop, Downtown"

This standardized format ensures your data can be easily imported into other finance apps or shared with financial advisors who can quickly understand your spending patterns.

Cloud sync is built into Paysa on all platforms. When you first use the app, you can sign up for cloud sync, or if you're using the app offline, you can convert your account to Cloud Mode in the settings. Once enabled, your expenses, categories, budgets, and tags sync automatically across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This feature is entirely opt-in and powered by AWS for privacy and reliability.

While Paysa is primarily designed for personal finance tracking, you can use it for business expenses by creating appropriate categories and tags. However, for complex business needs, you might want to consider dedicated business expense apps.
